Coaching
Coaching is a process that allows the individual or the business to define their future goal. This may be working within a stressful situation or relationship, enhancing career or educational opportunities, starting a new business stream or enhancing an outcome. It is a creative process which involves listening to and understanding the needs of the individual or organization. Coaches partner with their clients to inspire & build confidence & maximize their potential.
Mediation
Mediation is a confidential and voluntary process that allows the parties to make their own decisions. The Mediator is a trained neutral third party who assists the parties to express their emotions, interests and values in a kind, lively and safe manner. The Mediator’s role is to facilitate honest and open communication between individuals and assist them to create their own voluntary resolution agreement.
Restoration
The restoration process can be applied to both personal and workplace situations. It is voluntary, for all of those that have a stake in the relationship. The process allows the participants to collectively share the impacts and establish the obligations to move on into positive relationships. Often times when people feel supported, their commitment to one another or to their workplace is enhanced. By creating a kind, supportive and safe space, restoration dialogue or workshop is/are an ideal way to build communication and trust.
Workplace
Workplace mediation & coaching are a specialized processes that cater specifically to businesses. These services focus on helping businesses navigate difficult situations, such as transitioning through change, resolving internal disputes, or dealing with legal issues. Business mediators help to create an environment that is conducive to finding solutions, while business coaches work one-on-one with executives and employees to help them build confidence, make better decisions, and work more effectively as a team.
Karen is a qualified mediator, recognized by the International Mediation Institution. Through ADR Learning institute Karen has completed, The Art of conflict resolution program, Facilitating Workplace Restoration and Coaching through conflict programs as part of Alternative Dispute Resolution) Practitioner Certificate program at ADR Learning Institute.
Karen also completed the Workplace Investigation program at Workplace Investigation Network.
Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Human resources management certificate from the University of Alberta.
She is certified with PROSCI in individual and organizational change management and attended the PMI recognized Project Management Certification program at NAIT.
